The Story Behind Daycation for Seniors
Daycation for Seniors™ was born out of a simple but urgent observation: the aging Baby Boomer generation, representing 26% of the U.S. population, was facing a shortage of affordable, high-quality daytime senior care options. In 2015, James Slaughter turned that observation into action and launched Daycation for Seniors™ to serve one of the fastest growing demographics in the country.
Why the Company Was Founded
The senior care industry had long been dominated by two extremes: expensive 24-hour residential facilities or in-home care that lacked the social engagement seniors need to thrive. James identified an untapped middle ground — a membership-based daytime program that provided professional hands-on care, dementia-friendly activities, and meaningful group socialization, all at a price point accessible to everyday families.
Mission and Vision for the Future
Our mission is to enrich the lives of seniors through professional care, engaging programs, and a community built on compassion. Every Daycation for Seniors™ center is designed to be a place where members look forward to coming each day and where families have peace of mind knowing their loved ones are in good hands. The vision is a nationwide network of centers that makes quality senior day care accessible in every community across America.
Key Company Milestones
